Workplan

The project activities are split into three lines of action:

1) Networking Activities (NAs)

2) Service Activities (SAs)

3) Joint Research Activities (JRAs)

Networking activities

NA1 – management - This Activity will deal with the general management of the project, both from the financial/administrative point of view and the technical and scientific one; it will ensure the timely delivery of milestones and deliverables, as well as the quality of all project output and procedures. The sustainability of the DECIDE results beyond the project lifetime will be also addressed.

NA2 - Standardization, liaison and international cooperation - This activity will be responsible for liaising with relevant infrastructures, projects and organizations, in order to ensure an optimum level of collaboration, and facilitate the applicability of the solutions developed in the project to other contexts.

NA3 - Dissemination, Training & Outreach - This activity will disseminate the project results and provide targeted training to potential users. Specific activities to promote the infrastructure and its benefits to the Medical community are also envisaged.

Service activities

SA1 - Installation and maintenance of the enabling network and grid infrastructure - This activity will be responsible for implementing, operating and maintaining the different layers of the DECIDE infrastructure, from Network to the GUI.

SA2 - Exposure of and access to the reference databases - This activity will take care of defining the reference databases, as well as the relevant access procedures and policies, with a special stress on privacy and ownership rights.

Joint Research Activities

JRA1 - Porting of the diagnostic algorithms - The objective of this activity will be the porting of the diagnostic algorithms on the Grid infrastructure.

JRA2 - Design of the Diagnostic Service - This activity will define the architecture of the proposed diagnostic service, fitting it into the clinical environment and perform its overall validation

JRA3 – User Validation and Testing - This activity will validate the DECIDE infrastructure and application from the point of view of end-users. The beta testers' feedback will help improving the overall usability of the solution.
